Nouns are said
to be in Apposition البَدَل to another noun
when you can drop off any of them without affecting the semantics of the sentence. Grammatically and
logically speaking, both of the nouns should carry the same case marker.
کانَ الخليفة ُ عُمَرُ عادلاً.
The Caliph Omar was fair.
